Our History
Montgomery County Reentry Initiative (MCRI) was established in January 2017 as the Women’s Reentry Initiative, the result of a Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The JAG was awarded to Family Services of Montgomery County, PA, in partnership with the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, the Office of Adult Probation, and the county Criminal Justice Advisory Board.
In April 2019, the Women’s Reentry Initiative expanded to become the Montgomery County Reentry Initiative, serving all individuals leaving incarceration.
MCRI now includes more than one hundred coalition members, including returning citizens, who meet regularly to effect system level change.
